About me

I am originally from Wellington, New Zealand, where I did my Masters on the algal symbionts of coral reefs under Professor Simon Davy and Dr. Shaun Wilkinson. This gave me strong experience in analysis of genetic data, as well as remote fieldwork (in Timor-Leste and Indonesia).

I moved to Cambridge (UK) for my PhD, studying the parasites of freshwater mussels with Professor David Aldridge. I looked at parasites from both a host conservation perspective (how parasites affect mussel individuals, populations and the wider ecosystem), as well as a community ecology perspective (what determines the assembly of parasite communities across scales).

I am now a postdoc with Dr. Jane Catford at King's College London, working on plant invasions with a particular focus on how herbivores and pathogens interact with invasion processes.
